  • Organized and Federally recognized 1 October 1939 in the Georgia National Guard at Bainbridge as the Antitank Platoon, Headquarters Company, 121st Infantry, an element of the 30th Division
  • Inducted into Federal service 16 September 1940 at Bainbridge; and reorganized and redesignated as the Antitank Company, 121st Infantry
  • (121st Infantry relieved 22 November 1941 from assignment to the 30th Division and assigned to the 8th Division [8th Division redesignated 9 April 1942 as the 8th Motorized Division; on 15 May 1943 as the 8th Infantry Division])
  • Inactivated 20 October 1945 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri
  • (121st Infantry relieved 5 July 1946 from assignment to the 8th Infantry Division and assigned to the 48th Infantry Division)
  • Reorganized and Federally recognized 9 February 1948 in the Georgia National Guard at Bainbridge
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1948 as the Tank Company, 121st Infantry
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 November 1955 as Company D, 121st Armored Infantry Battalion, an element of the 48th Armored Division
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 July 1959 as Company D, 2d Armored Rifle Battalion, 121st Infantry, an element of the 48th Armored Division
  • Converted and redesignated 16 April 1963 as Company A, 4th Battalion, 108th Armor, an element of the 48th Armored Division
  • Converted and redesignated 1 January 1968 as the 2d and 3d Engineer Platoons, Company D, 560th Engineer Battalion, and relieved from assignment to the 48th Armored Division
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1971 as Detachment 1, Company D, 560th Engineer Battalion
  • Converted and redesignated 1 April 1996 as Detachment 1, 1148th Transportation Company
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1999 as the 1230th Transportation Company
  • Ordered into active Federal service 30 January 2003 at Bainbridge; released from active Federal service 29 January 2004 and reverted to state control
  • Ordered into active Federal service 4 April 2007 at Bainbridge
  • Location changed 1 September 2007 to Thomasville
  • Released from active Federal service 7 May 2008 and reverted to state control
  • Consolidated 1 July 2011 with Detachment 1, 1230th Transportation Company (organized and Federally recognized 20 December 2004 at Columbus), and consolidated unit designated as the 1230th Transportation Company
  • Ordered into active Federal service 5 July 2017 at Bainbridge; released from active Federal service 8 August 2014 and reverted to state control
