1057th TRANSPORTATION COMPANY

 

            Constituted 27 June 1946 in the Nebraska National Guard as Company D, 128th Engineer Battalion

            Organized and Federally recognized 28 September 1949 at Chadron

            Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 1 May 1959 as Battery A, 1st Howitzer Battalion, 168th Artillery, an element of the 34th Infantry Division

            (1st Howitzer Battalion, 168th Artillery, relieved 1 April 1963 from assignment to the 34th Infantry Division)

            Reorganized and redesignated 1 May 1968 as Battery C, 1st Battalion, 168th Field Artillery

            (1st Battalion, 168th Field Artillery, assigned 1 October 1985 to the 35th Infantry Division)

            Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 30 September 1997 as the 1057th Transportation Company and relieved from assignment to the 35th Infantry Division

            Ordered into active Federal service 21 January 2003 at Chadron; released from active Federal service 19 June 2004 and reverted to state control

HOME STATION: Chadron (less detachment at Scottsbluff)
