- Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 10 September 1956 as Headquarters and Service Company, 1030th Engineer Battalion, and relieved from assignment to the 29th Infantry Division
- Reorganized and redesignated 1 June 1959 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1030th Engineer Battalion
- Reorganized and redesignated 1 February 1968 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 1030th Engineer Battalion
- Ordered into active Federal service 24 November 1990 at Gate City; released from active Federal service 24 April 1991 and reverted to state control
- Ordered into active Federal service 15 March 2003 at Gate City; released from active Federal service 13 March 2004 and reverted to state control
- Converted, reorganized, and redesignated 1 September 2006 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 1030th Transportation Battalion
