Organized in March 1922 at Atlanta, Georgia

Redesignated 8 December 1942 as the 304th Signal Operation Battalion

Ordered into active military service 1 June 1943 at Camp Swift, Texas

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

Reorganized and redesignated 25 January 1953 as the 304th Signal Battalion

Withdrawn 15 June 1953 from the Army Reserve and allotted to the Regular Army
