Activated 25 February 1944 at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Inactivated 12 October 1945 at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Redesignated 7 January 1951 as the 55th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Squad; concurrently allotted to the Regular Army and activated at Raritan Arsenal, New Jersey

Reorganized and redesignated 15 June 1954 as the 55th Ordnance Detachment

Reorganized and redesignated 16 June 1997 as the 725th Ordnance Company
