  • Inactivated 6 March 1944 at Camp O’Reilly, Puerto Rico
  • (1st Battalion, 253d Coast Artillery reorganized and redesignated 10 June 1946 as the 482d Field Artillery Battalion)
  • Reorganized and Federally recognized 9 February 1947 at San Juan
  • Ordered into active Federal service 23 January 1951 at San Juan
  • (Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 482d Field Artillery Battalion [NGUS] organized and Federally recognized 17 May 1953 at San Juan)
  • Released from active Federal service 19 November 1954 and reverted to Commonwealth control; concurrently, Federal recognition withdrawn from Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 482d Field Artillery Battalion (NGUS)
  • Location changed 1 March 1958 to Hato Rey
  • Reorganized and redesignated 15 February 1959 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2d Howitzer Battalion, 162d Artillery
  • Consolidated 1 May 1964 with the Service Battery, 2d Howitzer Battalion, 162d Artillery (organized and Federally recognized 18 May 1947 at San Juan), and consolidated unit designated as Headquarters and Service Battery, 2d Battalion, 162d Artillery, an element of the 92d Infantry Brigade
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1972 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2d Battalion, 162d Field Artillery, an element of the 92d Infantry Brigade
  • Consolidated 2 September 1989 with the Service Battery, 2d Battalion, 162d Field Artillery (organized and Federally recognized 12 March 1972 at Hato Rey), and consolidated unit designated as Headquarters and Service Battery, 2d Battalion, 162d Field Artillery
  • Ordered into active Federal service 3 February 2003 at Hato Rey; released from active Federal service 2 February 2004 and reverted to Commonwealth control
  • (162d Field Artillery redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 162d Field Artillery Regiment)
  • Ordered into active Federal service 17 January 2008 at Hato Rey
  • Converted and redesignated 1 September 2008 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 124th Military Police Battalion and relieved from assignment to the 92d Infantry Brigade
  • Released from active Federal service 19 February 2009 and reverted to Commonwealth control
  • Location changed 1 October 2013 to Guaynabo
