Constituted 25 January 1974 in the North Carolina Army National Guard as Detachment 1, 449th Aviation Company

Organized and Federally recognized 15 February 1974 at Greensboro

Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1978 as Detachment 1, Company D, 28th Aviation Battalion, an element of the 28th Infantry Division

Converted and redesignated 1 October 1978 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 130th Signal Battalion, and relieved from assignment to the 28th Infantry Division

Location changed 1 October 1991 to Asheville

Converted and redesignated 1 October 1997 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 730th Support Battalion

Converted and redesignated 1 September 1999 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 730th Quartermaster Battalion

Converted and redesignated 1 September 2003 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 105th Military Police Battalion

Ordered into active Federal service 15 August 2004 at Asheville; relieved from active Federal service 24 October 2005 and reverted to state control
