(Company A, 36th Armored Infantry Battalion, reorganized and redesignated 15 February 1957 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Armored Rifle Battalion, 36th Infantry; concurrently relieved from assignment to the 3d Armored Division and assigned to the 1st Armored Division)
36th (less Company A), 37th, and 13th Armored Infantry Battalions relieved 1 October 1957 from assignment to the 3d Armored Division and consolidated to form the 36th Infantry, a parent regiment under the Combat Arms Regimental System; former Headquarters, Reserve Command, 3d Armored Division, concurrently expanded and redesignated as Headquarters, 36th Infantry, and as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Combat Command C, 3d Armored Division (Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Combat Command C, 3d Armored Division--hereafter separate lineage)
