Consolidated 15 March 1869 with the 41st Infantry (see ANNEX) and consolidated unit redesignated as the 24th Infantry

Assigned 1 February 1947 to the 25th Infantry Division

Relieved 1 August 1951 from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division

Inactivated 1 October 1951 in Korea

Reorganized 16 August 1995 as a parent regiment under the United States Army Regimental System

Redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 24th Infantry Regiment
