Company B, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry
Reorganized and redesignated 21 September 1866 as Company B, 18th Infantry
Consolidated in April 1869 with Company F, 25th Infantry (see ANNEX), and consolidated unit designated as Company B, 18th Infantry
(18th Infantry assigned 8 June 1917 to the 1st Expeditionary Division [later redesignated as the 1st Infantry Division])
Inactivated 15 February 1957 at Fort Riley, Kansas, and relieved from assignment to the 1st Infantry Division; concurrently redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battle Group, 18th Infantry
Assigned 1 October 1963 to the 1st Infantry Division and activated at Fort Riley, Kansas (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
Reorganized and redesignated 2 March 1964 as the 2d Battalion, 18th Infantry
Inactivated 15 April 1970 at Fort Riley, Kansas, and relieved from assignment to the 1st Infantry Division
Assigned 16 October 1987 to the 197th Infantry Brigade and activated at Fort Benning, Georgia
Relieved 16 August 1991 from assignment to the 197th Infantry Brigade and assigned to the 24th Infantry Division
Inactivated 15 February 1996 at Fort Benning, Georgia, and relieved from assignment to the 24th Infantry Division
Redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 2d Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment
Assigned 16 October 2009 to the 170th Infantry Brigade and activated in Germany
