  • Constituted 1 July 1916 in the Regular Army as Battery C, 13th Field Artillery
  • Organized 1 June 1917 at Camp Stewart, Texas
  • (13th Field Artillery assigned 10 December 1917 to the 4th Division; relieved 4 October 1920 from assignment to the 4th Division; assigned 1 March 1921 to the Hawaiian Division [later redesignated as the 24th Infantry Division])
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 October 1941 as Battery C, 13th Field Artillery Battalion
  • Inactivated 31 March 1958 and relieved from assignment to the 24th Infantry Division; concurrently redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3d Battalion, 13th Artillery
  • Redesignated 1 April 1960 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3d Howitzer Battalion, 13th Artillery, assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, and activated at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
  • Battalion redesignated 3 August 1963 as the 3d Battalion, 13th Artillery
  • Redesignated 1 September 1971 as the 3d Battalion, 13th Field Artillery
  • Inactivated 1 October 1983 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and relieved from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division
  • Activated 16 January 1996 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma
  • Redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 3d Battalion, 13th Field Artillery Regiment
