- Inactivated 20 June 1957 at Fort Lewis, Washington, and relieved from assignment to the 2d Infantry Division; concurrently, redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2d Battalion, 12th Artillery
- Redesignated 1 May 1960 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2d Howitzer Battalion, 12th Artillery, assigned to the 8th Infantry Division, and activated in Germany (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
