- Reconstituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves as the 319th Engineers and assigned to the 94th Division
- Organized in November 1921 with Headquarters at Boston, Massachusetts
- Redesignated (less 2d Battalion) 30 June 1942 as the 319th Engineer Battalion, and remained assigned to the 94th Division (later redesignated as the 94th Infantry Division) (2d Battalion – hereafter separate lineage)
- Ordered into active military service 15 September 1942 and reorganized at Fort Custer, Michigan as the 319th Engineer Combat Battalion
- Inactivated 7 February 1946 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey
- Activated 13 February 1947 with Headquarters at Boston, Massachusetts, and remained assigned to the 94th Infantry Division
- (Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
- Redesignated 30 November 1953 as the 319th Engineer Battalion
- Location of Headquarters changed 29 March 1958 to Roslindale, Massachussetts
- Inactivated 1 March 1963 at Roslindale, Massachusetts, and relieved from assignment to the 94th Infantry Division
- Headquarters, 319th Engineer Battalion, redesignated 5 September 2006 as Headquarters, 3d Brigade, 94th Training Division; remainder of battalion concurrently disbanded
- Activated 16 September 2009 at Indianapolis, Indiana
