  • Constituted 20 March 1951 in the Organized Reserve Corps as the 450th Military Government Company
  • Activated 13 April 1951 at Fort Myer, Virginia
  • (Organized Reserve Corps redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
  • Reorganized and redesignated 20 August 1956 as the 450th Civil Affairs and Military Government Company
  • Redesignated 1 December 1959 as the 450th Civil Affairs Company
  • Location changed 20 May 1964 to Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland
  • Location changed 31 January 1968 to Riverdale, Maryland
  • Ordered into active military service 11-27 December 1990 at Riverdale, Maryland; released from active military service 23 April 1991
  • Reorganized and redesignated 16 September 1992 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 450th Civil Affairs Battalion (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
  • Battalion ordered into active military service 26 September 2002 at Riverdale, Maryland; released from active military service 25 September 2003 and reverted to reserve status
  • Ordered into active military service 6 August 2004 at Riverdale, Maryland; released from active military service 5 August 2005 and reverted to reserve status
  • (Elements ordered into active military service 30 May 2007 at Riverdale, Maryland; released from active military service 2 July 2008 and reverted to reserve status)
  • (Elements ordered into active military service 28 December 2008-22 January 2009 at Riverdale, Maryland; released from active military service 31 January-25 February 2010 and reverted to reserve status)
