Inactivated 7 November 1945 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

Redesignated 28 June 1951 as the 44th Chemical Smoke Generator Company and allotted to the Regular Army

Activated 23 July 1951 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina

Inactivated 20 October 1953 in England

Redesignated 9 November 1954 as the 44th Chemical Company

Activated 6 January 1955 in Germany

Inactivated 15 June 1959 in Germany

Assigned 1 March 1980 to the 2d Armored Division and activated at Fort Hood, Texas

Inactivated 15 September 1991 at Fort Hood, Texas

Activated 16 December 1992 at Fort Hood, Texas

Inactivated 15 January 1996 at Fort Hood, Texas, and relieved from assignment to the 2d Armored Division
