            Converted and redesignated 13 July 1918 as Company C, 1st Gas Regiment

            Demobilized 28 February 1919 at Camp Kendrick, New Jersey

            Reconstituted 3 February 1920 in the Regular Army as Company C, 1st Gas Regiment, and organized at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland

            Reorganized and redesignated 13 July 1927 as the 1st Chemical Company

            Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1931 as the 1st Separate Chemical Company

            Reorganized and redesignated 21 March 1942 as the 1st Chemical Company

            Inactivated 29 May 1943 at Camp Sibert, Alabama

            Activated 10 March 1958 at Fort McClellan, Alabama

            Redesignated 19 May 1958 as the 22d Chemical Company

            Inactivated 20 July 1966 in Vietnam

            Assigned 21 September 1979 to the 3d Armored Division and activated in Germany

            Inactivated 15 August 1992 in Germany and relieved from assignment to the 3d Armored Division

            Redesignated 16 October 2004 as the 22d Chemical Battalion and activated at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
