- Reorganized and redesignated 19 January 1944 as the 202d Army Band and relieved from assignment to the 149th Infantry
- Reorganized and redesignated 27 May 1944 as the 202d Army Ground Forces Band
- Inactivated 23 November 1945 at Camp Bowie, Texas
- Redesignated 17 May 1947 as the 202d Army Band
- Reorganized and Federally recognized 30 January 1947 in the Kentucky National Guard at Ashland
- Location changed 1 September 1970 to Louisville
- Location changed 1 August 1972 to Frankfort
