  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 May 1940 as the Band, 149th
  • Inducted into Federal service 17 January 1941 at Bowling Green
  • Reorganized and redesignated 19 January 1944 as the 202d Army Band and relieved from assignment to the 149th Infantry
  • Reorganized and redesignated 27 May 1944 as the 202d Army Ground Forces Band
  • Inactivated 23 November 1945 at Camp Bowie, Texas
  • Redesignated 17 May 1947 as the 202d Army Band
  • Reorganized and Federally recognized 30 January 1947 in the Kentucky National Guard at Ashland
  • Location changed 1 September 1970 to Louisville
  • Location changed 1 August 1972 to Frankfort
