  • Constituted 1 March 1907 in the Regular Army as the 13th Band, Coast Artillery and activated at Fort Du Pont, Delaware
  • Reorganized and redesignated 30 June 1924 as the Band Section, Headquarters Battery, 16th Coast Artillery
  • Band element withdrawn 15 July 1927 from Headquarters Battery and redesignated as the Band, 16th Coast Artillery
  • Reorganized and redesignated 23 May 1944 as the 77th Army Ground Forces Band
  • Inactivated 29 November 1946 on Saipan
  • Redesignated 15 April 1947 as the 77th Army Band
  • Activated 1 May 1947 in the Philippines as the 77th Army Band (Philippine Scouts)
  • Inactivated 1 June 1949 in the Philippines
  • Activated 1 November 1951 at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, as the 77th Army Band
  • Inactivated 8 May 1953 at Fort Huachuca, Arizona
  • Activated 24 February 1955 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma
