Location of Headquarters changed 30 September 1995 to Fort Eustis, Virginia

Elements ordered into active military service from 2 February to 28 March 2003 at Fort Eustis, Virginia; released from active military service from 1 February to 25 July 2004 and reverted to reserve status

Redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment

Elements ordered into active military or Federal service from 16 October 2008 to
28 September 2009 at various stations; elements released from active military or Federal service from 19 November 2009 to 1 November 2010 and reverted to reserve status or state control

Company C ordered into active Federal service 10 January 2011 at Cheyenne, Wyoming
