  • Allotted 16 December 1952 to the Regular Army
  • Redesignated 1 January 1957 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Sixth United States Army
  • Inactivated 23 June 1995 at the Presidio of San Francisco, California
  • Consolidated 16 July 2008 with Headquarters, United States Army South (Organized 4 December 1986 in the Regular Army as Headquarters, United States Army South, in Panama), and consolidated unit concurrently reorganized and redesignated as Headquarters, United States Army South, to consist of Main Command Post, Operational Command Post, and Special Troops Battalion (Special Troops Battalion – hereafter separate lineage)
  • Main Command Post and Operational Command Post, Headquarters, United States Army South, reorganized and redesignated 16 June 2011 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, United States Army South
