Constituted in January 1918 in the Regular Army as Headquarters, 32d Artillery Brigade (Coast Artillery Corps), and organized at Key West Barracks, Florida

Demobilized 18 January 1919 at Camp Hill, Virginia

Reconstituted 14 October 1936 in the Regular Army as Headquarters, 32d Coast Artillery Brigade; concurrently consolidated with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 32d Coast Artillery Brigade (constituted 18 October 1927 in the Regular Army), and consolidated unit designated as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 32d Coast Artillery Brigade

Activated 20 November 1942 at Fort Bliss, Texas

Redesignated 28 May 1943 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 32d Antiaircraft Artillery Brigade

Inactivated 30 May 1947 in the Philippine Islands

Activated 6 February 1951 in England

Redesignated 20 March 1958 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 32d Artillery Brigade

Redesignated 11 May 1966 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 32d Army Air Defense Command

Inactivated 15 July 1995 in Germany

Redesignated 16 October 1998 as Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command, and activated at Fort Bliss, Texas
