411th Regiment Lineage

Constituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves as the 411th Infantry and assigned to the 103d Division (later redesignated as the 103d Infantry Division)

Organized in November 1921 with Headquarters at Denver, Colorado

Ordered into active military service 15 November 1942 and reorganized at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana

Inactivated 20 September 1945 at the New York Port of Embarkation

Activated 20 January 1947 in the Organized Reserves with Headquarters at Fargo, North Dakota

(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)

(Location of Headquarters changed 31 December 1949 to Minneapolis, Minnesota; changed 5 November 1951 to Fort Snelling, Minnesota)

Reorganized 18 May 1959 as a parent regiment under the Combat Arms Regimental System to consist of the 1st Battle Group, an element of the 103d Infantry Division

1st Battle Group inactivated 15 March 1963 and relieved from assignment to the 103d Infantry Division

411th Infantry withdrawn 17 October 1999 from the Combat Arms Regimental System, redesignated as the 411th Regiment, and reorganized to consist of the 1st, 2d, and 3d Battalions, elements of the 85th Division (Training Support)
