26 June 1812) and a company of the 39th Infantry (constituted 29 January 1813) to form a company of the 7th Infantry
Designated 21 August 1816 as Company B, 7th Infantry
Consolidated 4 June 1869 with Company B, 36th Infantry (see ANNEX), and consolidated unit designated as Company B, 7th Infantry
(7th Infantry assigned 21 November 1917 to the 3d Division [later redesignated as the 3d Infantry Division])
Reorganized and redesignated 1 July 1957 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battle Group, 7th Infantry, relieved from assignment to the 3d Infantry Division, and assigned to the 10th Infantry Division (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
Battle Group inactivated 14 June 1958 at Fort Benning, Georgia
Redesignated 18 April 1963 as the 2d Battalion, 7th Infantry; concurrently relieved from assignment to the 10th Infantry Division and assigned to the 3d Infantry Division
