           Constituted 25 February 1943 in the Army of the United States as the 642d Engineer Camouflage Company

            Activated 21 June 1943 at Fort Ord, California

            Inactivated 25 October 1945 in the Philippines

            Redesignated 27 May 1968 as the 642d Engineer Company, allotted to the Regular Army, and activated at Fort Devens, Massachusetts
