        Activated 16 January 1986 at Wheeler Air Force Base, Hawaii

        Reorganized and redesignated 16 May 1988 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 25th Aviation; concurrently relieved from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division and assigned to the 10th Mountain Division (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)

        Battalion relieved 15 March 1996 from assignment to the 10th Mountain Division and assigned to the 25th Infantry Division

        Redesignated 1 October 2005 as the 2d Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment

        Relieved 16 November 2005 from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division and assigned to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division
