4th Battalion,
4th Aviation Regiment

  • Constituted 17 March 1980 in the Regular Army as Company C, 4th Aviation Battalion, an element of the 4th Infantry Division
  • Activated 16 March 1982 at Fort Carson, Colorado
  • Reorganized and redesignated 16 August 1987 as Company D, 4th Aviation, and remained assigned to the 4th Infantry Division
  • Reorganized and redesignated 16 November 1993 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Battalion, 4th Aviation (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
  • Battalion inactivated 15 February 1996 at Fort Carson, Colorado, and relieved from assignment to the 4th Infantry Division
  • Assigned 16 May 2005 to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, and activated at Fort Hood, Texas
  • Redesignated 1 October 2005 as 4th Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment
  • Inactivated 15 September 2011 at Fort Bliss, Texas, and relieved from assignment to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division
  • Assigned 16 April 2014 to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, and activated at Fort Carson, Colorado
