Reorganized and redesignated 2 December 1943 as Company A, 745th Tank Battalion

Inactivated 27 October 1945 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey

Redesignated 14 September 1948 as Company A, 63d Heavy Tank Battalion, an element of the 1st Infantry Division, and allotted to the Regular Army

Activated 10 October 1948 in Germany

Reorganized and redesignated 10 October 1950 as Company A, 63d Tank Battalion

Inactivated15 February 1957 at Fort Riley, Kansas, and relieved from assignment to the 1st Infantry Division

Redesignated 25 January 1963 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 63d Armor (organic elements concurrently constituted)

Battalion assigned 1 July 1963 to the 1st Infantry Division and activated at Fort Riley, Kansas

Reorganized and redesignated 20 January 1964 as the 1st Battalion, 63d Armor

Inactivated 16 August 1987 at Fort Riley, Kansas, and relieved from assignment to the 1st Infantry Division

Activated 16 September 1987 at Fort Irwin, California

Assigned 16 October 1991 to the 177th Armored Brigade

Inactivated 15 October 1994 at Fort Irwin, California, and relieved from assignment to the 177th Armored Brigade
